Mark Sakr, DO is now seeing patients at Carolina Family Practice & Sports Medicine, located in Suite 107 at AIHF.  Dr. Sakr is originally from upstate New York and his undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor in Microbiology. He received his medical degree from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and his residency training was in family medicine at Duke University Medical Center, where he was chief resident. He completed his Sports Medicine fellowship at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. 

Dr. Sakr has a passion for community involvement, volunteering to provide medical care for multiple high schools in Durham and Wake counties throughout his training. He has also been a part of the sports medicine teams at Duke, UNC and NCCU over the past few years.

Effective November 1, Carolina Family Practice & Sports Medicine will embark on a new affiliation as a Duke Private Diagnostic Clinic (PDC).  The decision to affiliate with the PDC was made after thoughtful consideration and much due diligence on the part of the CFP&SM partner physicians and management team.  This new affiliation will provide numerous patient benefits and will allow CFP&SM to continue to focus on maintaining and advancing their status as a NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home.  Concurrent to this transition, James R. Stevens, MD will begin serving as the physician administrator for CFP&SM.
