10.15.09 ... Matt Person announced the appointment of Christopher C. Mangum as President, AIHF Executive Health effective October 1, 2009. Chris has served as Senior Advisor to AIHF LLC since 2004, supporting our work in the areas of business planning, strategic partnerships and project management.
A native of Raleigh and a graduate of N.C. State University, Chris has worked with CC Mangum Company since 1976. Founded in 1927, CC Mangum is one of the premier heavy-highway site contractors in North Carolina. The Mangum family has long been an integral part of the economic development and growth of the greater Raleigh area, and a contributor towards the welfare of the communities in which it works. Chris has served as a member of the North Carolina Governor's Work First Business Council and the North Carolina Governor's Council for Responsible Fatherhood. In 1996, Chris co-founded and is currently Board Chair of Jobs for Life, a non-profit organization with 106 U.S. sites devoted to helping those needing employment assistance gain the life skills needed to succeed at the workplace.

7.8.09 ... The Dermatology Center of Raleigh reports findings of their recent skin cancer screenings at AIHF, sponsored by the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Cancer Society. Of the 72 people screened, 27 had suspected cancerous or suspicious lesions emphasizing the importance of skin cancer screening and early detection. Click here to read the full release.
6.1.09 ... Visit Health Park Pharmacy in Suite 227 at AIHF Raleigh for Free Blood Pressure Screenings! Health Park Pharmacy is happy to announce their new PharmaSmart Blood Pressure Kiosk. Ask the pharmacist about the Smart Card which records your blood pressures and will print your last ten blood pressure and pulse rate recordings. The card can be used on a computer and results can be emailed to your physician for adequate tracking of your blood pressure readings. 5.13.09 ... Carolina Family Practice & Sports Medicine and Triangle Orthopaedic Associates will offer Sports Physicals on Saturday, May 30th, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The physicals will take place at 8300 Health Park, Suites 107 and 109. No appointment is required. Fee is $10. All fees collected go back directly to the school's athletic department. 4.30.09 ... New York Life Insurance presents Customer Appreciation Day hosted by AIHF Executive Health on Saturday, May 2nd from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Join us in the AIHF Conference Center for health information on the topics of children and seniors' health. The event is open to the public, with fun for the entire family!
4.20.09 ... The Dermatology Center of Raleigh announces upcoming Skin Cancer Screening event to be held on Monday, May 18th. The Dermatology Center of Raleigh will offer free skin cancer screenings, sponsored by the American Academy of Dermatology from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Conference Center at AIHF Raleigh. The event is open to the public; however, appointments are required and can be made by calling 919.573.9030.
4.1.09 ... American Lung Association in North Carolina opens it doors at AIHF Raleigh. The Lung Association's move to 8300 Health Park will provide building visitors with easy access to information and programs that help with managing asthma, quitting smoking, and living with lung disease. 3.9.09 ... Sports & More Physical Therapy and Triangle Orthopaedic Associates present a Running Clinic - Saturday, April 18, 2009 - 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The event will be held at 8300 Health Park, Suite 127. Dr. William Silver of Triangle Orthopaedic Associates will provide an overview of common running injuries and Sports & More Physical Therapy will conduct breakout sessions on gait and running mechanics, flexibility, and lower extremity functional strength. 3.2.09 ... Free Movie Night showing of Hidden Dangers in Kids Meals. Please join CCW on March 2nd at 6:00 pm in the AIHF Conference Center for a showing of Hidden Dangers in Kids Meals. In this movie, the second of the GMO Trilogy, shocking research results, inadequate regulations and warnings from eminent scientists explain why genetically modified foods are dangerous and should be removed from kids' meals. The dramatic story of how student behavior in a Wisconsin school was transformed with a healthy diet provides added motivation to make a change.
3.16.09 ... Dr. Jennifer Greenfield presents a lecture: Are Bioidentical Hormones Right for Me? Join Dr. Jennifer Greenfield on March 16th at 6:00 pm in the AIHF Conference Center as she speaks on bioidentical hormones. This lecture will expand on Oprah's Discussion of the subject from the February 15th show as well as delve deeper into the subject. Bioidentical hormones are manufactured in the lab to have the same molecular structure as the hormones made by your own body. By contrast, synthetic hormones are intentionally different. Drug companies can't patent a bioidentical structure, so they invent synthetic hormones that are patentable (Premarin, Prempro and Provera being the most widely used examples). So which, if either, is right for you?

A team of physicians, pharmacist, counselors, physical therapist and a dietitian will present various topics including the progression of diabetes, treatment options, medication, nutrition, exercise, and emotional components. Gain information about diabetes for yourself or a friend or family member. Join a unique group of individuals who will participate in a multi-week program, Thursday evenings 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm beginning March 19, 2009 at the American Institute of Healthcare & Fitness.
